Arrive in Bucharest, Romania’s capital city. After completing your visa formalities, meet your fellow travel mates and guide. Proceed to guided city tour followed by check-in. Your first stop will be at the nowadays Palace of Parliament and in your full tour we will visit the huge marble halls generously decorated with works of art. Afterwards you will have the opportunity of an amazing rooftop view from the also called People’s House terrace.You will enter in the bohemian atmosphere of the city given by the old buildings from past times, narrow streets and chic little cafes in the town’s old historical center. On our panoramic tour we’ll pass by the National Theatre, the Triumphal Arch, the House of the Free Press and we’ll go through 3 important squares: University, Roman, Victory and Revolution. After tour, transfer to hotel for check in. The rest of the day you have time to explore the city on your own. If you feel up to it, head to the Old Town to get the taste of the city’s nightlife. You can either choose to explore Bucharest on your own or go on an Optional Day Trip to Bulgaria with Lunch. Explore the site of Veliko Tarnovo on a day trip to Bulgaria from Bucharest. You will visit the Fortress of Tsarevets and take a tour of the Arbanassi Village. Commonly known as the City of the Tsars, Veliko Tarnovo served as the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire, and it is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre. You will head south towards Bulgaria, crossing the Danube River, the second largest river in Europe. At approximately 100 km from the Romanian border, you will find the charismatic city of Veliko Tarnovo, a UNESCO heritage site with a tremendous cultural and historic value. Once you step through the gates of the medieval town, you will feel like you traveled back in time. You will find palaces, a fortress, houses with unique architectural style, museums, monasteries - all part of the region’s history. Walking on the cobbled streets, the guide will tell you more about the history of the town which used to be the Capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire.Your Bulgaria day trip will continue with the Tsarevets Fortress, surrounded by thick walls, up on the hill. The market consists of two streets bordered by shops, craftsmen’s workshops, and inns. You can buy souvenirs from this center which recreates the atmosphere of the first decades of the 20th century. When you will return to Bucharest, you will stop near the village of Arbanassi, known especially for the mural paintings in the churches and we will visit the Nativity Church. Greet another morning with a hearty breakfast – you are going to need it! Today, soon after breakfast you will begin your Optional Tour of the home of Romania’s most famous resident - Dracula. Or you can choose to wander off on your own and explore the city. After breakfast, depart from the hotel. First stop will be at Sinaia, a picturesque mountainous region not far from the capital where we will visit the Peles Castle, the formal summer residence for the Romanian royal family and the meeting venue for the most important foreign delegations. Peles Castle delights the eye, revealing to be an architectural gem in a mosaic of styles: Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque, etc. monument called the “Cathedral of the Carpathians”. Here you have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Eastern- Orthodox worship. After Royal Palace will visit the Bran Castle, one of the most famous castles in the world, also known as Dracula’s Castle. Built starting with 1211 under the architectural guidance of Johaness Schultz and Karel Lima, Bran Castle or Dracula Castle was finalized in 1377. Set strategically atop a 60-metre cliff, the castle is towering over the most important access route into Transylvania. The first document that mentions Bran Castle dates from 14th century, when Sigismund of Luxemburg used it as military base. After tour, transfer back to hotel. Overnight in Bucharest
